Preliminary Task

In this preliminary task we have to create a college magazine front cover and a college magazine contents page. The deadline to complete this course work by is 24^th October 2013. Our preliminary coursework will all be display on a blog.

I will be carrying out some research for my college magazine for instance questionnaire. This questionnaire will be used as research to find out what my target audience is looking for and what kind of ideas I could add that I might not have thought of at first.

Also a textual analysis will have to be complete by 17^th October 2013. I will be analysing a college magazine cover. I will be writing about the convections of a magazine cover and also the denotations and the connotations of the front cover, who the magazine is targeted at, and write what the magazine cover seems to reveal about the college.

We will have to take original photos that we have taken ourselves to use in the college magazine and in the main task.

Main Task

For the main task we have to make a music magazine front cover, a contents page and a double page spread including the article.

 I will have to create a questionnaire to found about what my target audience is looking for and depending on the genre of the music magazine I will need to find out what their interest is.

 I will need to do a photo shoot of a medium long shot as the front cover. The contents page and double page spread isn’t specified therefore I could use any shot that I want. The article will have to relate to the genre of music and whatever the topic is in the double page spread.
